Halloween!

This is going to be like my summer post. I'm going to cover everything Halloween we did in October in one post, sorry if it gets long. We went to a neighbor's Halloween party. We did pumpkin bowling and "eat the doughnut on the string" game.


We took a little trip on the Provo river on this great Halloween cruise. There were many jack-o-lanterns, lights, and even a pirate! It wasn't even very cold.



We went for a ride on the Nigthmare Express! Stringtown does such a great job with this and it's FREE! It doesn't get better than that for Halloween fun.

Of course we went trick-or-treating. Where are those pics you ask? I really don't know! Sad, I hope I find them. Lydia was a devil, Ali was a pink, sparkly Supergirl, and Bryant was a dragon. Happy Halloween!

Utah State Fair

Emergency Essentials has a booth at the state fair every year, so Tim works it and gets a couple of extra tickets. So, to the fair we went. The kids all thought it was so fun to be able to see and touch so many farm animals.



Then of course we had to hit some rides! Ali went on the "scary" rides with me and Tim took the other two on some more calmer rides. Then we found some everyone liked!

Summer Fun!

I'm going to go through our summer of 2011 pretty quickly because...I'm behind on my blogging. We spent a lot of time in the pool. We went to the PG pool, the Lindon pool, but mostly to Seven Peaks. We went about 8 times this summer, and the kids LOVED it! The girls also took swimming lessons. They were well saturated by the time school started up again.

Strawberry Days is always a must in our summer routine. Here Bryant is getting his face painted by one of the princesses.

Tim took the girls back packing for the second year in a row. Next year Bryant will be old enough to join them. When they left it was a nice sunny summer night, but right after they pitched their tent the clouds rolled in and it rained all night on them. They are troopers though and they still had fun!


We headed down to Provo for the Pioneer Day Extravaganza! Tim won the Root Beer Chugging contest, the kids got to play many games, and do several crafts. They also loved the old cars that were around including this 100 year old fire truck!



Of course we had to go to an OWLZ game this summer. Aunt Shannon came with us. We had a great time watching the game and meeting the OWLZ, but the best part were the fireworks at the after the game! So fun!




Even though we didn't take any big trips, we had such a great summer! There are so many fun things to do in our community! The kids are already asking how long until next summer.

Lydia loses her first tooth!

Right after Lydia's 7th birthday, she finally lost her first tooth. Her permanent tooth was almost completely in behind it. The Tooth Fairy was very generous with this first, long awaited tooth. Lydia got $2 and a candy bar!

June Racing

Tim participated in his first triathlon at the beginning of June. It was a 3.2 mile run (5k), an eight mile bike, ending with a 400 meter swim. Tim finished in about 1 1/2 hours. He did a great job!




Then mid June I participated in the Wasatch Back Ragnar with some of my closest friends. Our team name was "Running Fools" and our mascot was Mr. T. My team of 12 women covered 200 miles in 32 hours. I was runner 4. My first leg was 5.2 miles mid day in the heat and uphill. It was my hardest leg, but I did it! My second leg was 4.5 miles, 11:00 at night and flat. It was much easier and I ran the entire leg! My last leg was mostly downhill, 3.1 miles and in the morning. I completed that one with relative ease. Ragnar was an amazing experience. It was so neat to have the support van following me and encouraging me all along the way. I wanted to do well for my team, but always felt my best was good enough. When I felt I wanted to quit, they cheered me on. On the last leg my family also came to see me run and I could tell they were so proud of me. I got about 3 hours of sleep during the trip, but it was worth every cent, sore muscle, and waking moment. Thanks to my team for letting me be a part of it!

Independence Day!

The Fourth of July has become my favorite holiday...yes, even surpassing Christmas. We started the day off with, what else, the Provo Freedom Parade. Thank you to the Wiley's for allowing us to tag along!







Next we headed to Uncle Lynn and Aunt Merrily's house for a bbq, waterslides, and of course some fireworks! Bryant almost touched a sparkler to a cousin's face, so he sat the rest of the time. We had a great time though and we love spending time with family!

Lydia's 7th birthday

Uncle Andy and Aunt Stephanie's family was in town for Lydia's 7th birthday. We went to Bridal Veil Falls, had a pic nic, and waded in the stream. Then we came back home and had fruit pizza and opened some presents!







The next day Lydia had a Rock Star friend party. Tim was the bouncer that only allowed the VIP guests in. The kids rocked out to Just Dance 2 and got their faces painted. We ended with a little fireworks show.
